About Us

Alpha La, established by anthropology students in the Department of Geography and Anthropology in 1995, is the LSU chapter of Lambda Alpha, the National Anthropology Honor Society. Alpha La is devoted to promoting the field of anthropology and recognizing outstanding academic achievement at LSU. Our society provides a platform for students to engage in scholarly activities, build networks, and contribute to the advancement of anthropological knowledge. We are committed to fostering a community of excellence and academic success in our university and greater community of Baton Rouge.
