About Us
The Musical Theatre Club at LSU (MTC@LSU) provides opportunities to LSU's undergraduate and graduate students who have a passion for musical theatre.┬áThe organization's mission is to educate students in the area of musical theatre.┬áAdditionally, MTC@LSU harnesses an appreciation for the genre of music theatre not only in the students, but in the Baton Rouge community as well. Club members can gain experience in all areas of musical theatre, from producing, to singing/dancing/acting, to playing in the orchestra, to technical production. In addition to performance opportunities, the club organizes a wide variety of activities throughout the year (within and out of the general membership meeting setting) including, but not limited to:┬á ÔùÅ seeing local musical theatre productions ÔùÅ game nights ÔùÅ viewings of film musicals, followed by post-show discussions ÔùÅ workshops Each year the club produces a series of cabarets and staged readings, as well as at least one fully staged musical and an end-of-the-year revue, Singeaux. This organization is by the students, for the students, and with the students; MTC@LSU provides students opportunities not only for performing as true triple threats, but also designing, directing, choreographing, and music directing for musical theatre, and more. ┬áThe students of MTC@LSU work together to promote the success of musical theatre in the Baton Rouge community.
