About Us
Patients with blood cancers and life-threatening blood diseases rely on stem-cell or bone marrow donors when chemotherapy or radiation treatments fail. In order for patients to receive a generous donor, the patient and donor's DNA must be similar enough, or "match." Matches are usually found within one's own ethnic/race group. Our mission is to diversify our pool of donors! NMDP-LSU will be in the Quad, once a month, to promote people from all walks of life to join the registry.
