The reason Society of Women In Construction Engineering was brought into fruition was to create a community of likeminded women enrolled in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and or Architecture at their respective universities and to help prepare them to be working in male-dominated workplaces.
Surrounded by a community of individuals who want to see growth in the construction industry by making current work environments, more open to having women employees. Opportunities to talk to employers, scholarships, outreach and community service hours, and lastly, social events that could lead into making new connections within the industry.
