’Neon on Bourbon’ is GSA’s signature social event of the semester, and it aims to provide an engaging, Louisiana-inspired experience that fosters community, relaxation, and peer connection in an inclusive and celebratory environment.

The estimated attendance of this event is 150-200 Graduate students, and the purpose is to
• Celebrate graduate students and their contributions to LSU
• Foster social connection and cross-disciplinary engagement
• Create a culturally relevant, Louisiana-inspired experience
• Provide an accessible, low-pressure space for graduate students to unwind and connect

Theme Elements include:
• New Orleans–inspired décor (purple, gold, black, subtle neon accents)
• Louisiana music playlist (jazz, bounce, R&B, modern New Orleans sounds)
• Traditional Southern Line Dancing
• Optional dress code: Denim & Diamonds (denim encouraged, sparkle optional)

Programming would entail:
• DJ or curated Bourbon Street–inspired playlist, Request system for song suggestions
• Interactive photo backdrop (“Welcome to Bourbon Street”)
• Light games or icebreakers (optional, drop-in style)
