The NAACP's mission is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination in our community. Our chapter hopes to create a positive and safe atmosphere for students to gather and have open discussions about political, cultural and social issues that will promote individual growth and learning.

RHA represents all students living on campus and works as a governing body in collaboration with the Department of Residential Life by reviewing and recommending changes in regulations, policies, and physical facilities pertinent and beneficial to students living on campus.

As the second largest student organization at LSU, RHA has a place for everyone. Each residence hall and apartment community have a Community Council – composed of student officers elected by on-campus residents- that represents each hall during RHA general assembly meetings, plans social and educational programs for its community, and works with the community's professional staff to improve the quality of life for residents.
RHA also organizes and sponsors educational, social, and leadership activities of benefit and interest to on-campus residents, like its annual crawfish boil, move-in block party, Homecoming week's Splatterbeat, and more. Get involved early on campus and serve on your hall's Community Council to open a world of leadership opportunities.

Spectrum empowers and supports LSU lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning and asexual/aromantic (LGBTQA+) communities as well as their allies, by providing social support, education, programming, and opportunities to participate in campus and community activism.

Spectrum is an organization with over 100 active members, and has successfully organized programs, classroom panels, campus-wide forums, lobbying campaigns at the state legislature, and a statewide conference (the Louisiana Queer Conference, or LAQC). Whatever your interest is in the LGBTQ community at LSU, Spectrum has a place for you!

With over two million people currently behind bars, the United States remains the largest incarcerator in the world. Louisiana has the second-largest incarceration rate in the country, only recently unseated as number one in 2018. Tiger Prison Project is a student coalition dedicated to ending mass incarceration, improving the lives of which it has affected, and promoting fair and effective alternatives. In order to restore our community, we give LSU students opportunities to work with local organizations that aid individuals and families negatively impacted by these systems.

Since the founding of our chapter in 2016, TPUSA at LSU has already made a mark on campus. We have hosted free speech events, given out tons of information, and shared our organization with students. This year we are aiming even bigger. Our goal is to provide an outlet for all people to express their opinions without fear of judgment or persecution. We plan to have guest speakers and be involved on the LSU campus for years to come.
