Join us for a day of service and community celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy of civic engagement, humanitarianism, and the fight toward equality. The day begins with service at various community organizations passionate to serve the Baton Rouge community. The community celebration consists of a panel dialogue comprised of LSU professors, community members, and students then concludes with a film showing of Selma (2014). Selma is a historical drama based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches initiated by James Bevel, led by Dr. King, Hosea Williams, and John Lewis.

We welcome all students, faculty, staff, and community members to engage in this day of service and community celebration to uplift Dr. King's legacy! This is an opportunity to reflect on our responsibility to one another through community care, social awareness, and intentional action.

Lunch and refreshments will be served.
