Mission
The purpose of this student organization is to provide all Louisiana State University students the opportunity to further their education through forensic activities and competition throughout the United States. To provide an educational forum for students that will enable them to improve their communication skills, outside of the classroom, both formally (i.e. public speaking) and informally (i.e. interpersonally). To instill in each student a sense of competition, ethics, and fairness. To have fun while traveling and gaining life experiences. To promote Louisiana State University and its community as good citizens, good students, and excellent communicators.

Membership Benefits
The Speech and Debate Club at LSU provides a space for LSU students to practice and refine their public speaking, argumentation, and oral interpretation skills in a fun and competitive atmosphere.

If you are interested in joining the Speech and Debate Team at LSU, please contact Director of Forensics Dr. Ashley Mack at ashleymack@lsu.edu.

You can also attend our debate practices Tuesday night 5-8, or speech practices Thursday from 5-8. Both are held in the team room in Coates Hall 144.
