About Us

The purpose of this organization shall be to: serve all LSU students and the community by ministering to their emotional, social, and spiritual needs. We will provide resources and training to students to enhance their leadership skills, relational skills, and Christian spiritual life development. We will also support student academic success as we encourage the education of their minds and support whole student development throughout their time at Louisiana State University. Students who interact with The Table will be listened to and supported with confidentiality and acceptance for any emotional distress they might be experiencing. Those who could benefit from professional care will be referred to the LSU counseling services and local, licensed mental health professionals. We will promote intergenerational community by inviting involvement in a local church family. We will create events designed to encourage healthy, safe, and beneficial social encounters among college students. We will offer students the opportunity to enhance their spiritual development by studying the Bible, prayer and meditation, creating space for questioning, providing spiritual formation activities, as well as individual and community engagement. There is no direct association with any national groups. This student organization is supported and financially sponsored by the South Baton Rouge Church of Christ.
