• Becoming a Member

    In order to become an LSU HOSA member, students must be or have been enrolled in health-related courses or be pursuing a health-related career or degree. Students must also comply to all LSU HOSA chapter rules and the student code of conduct regarding the organization. The annual affiliation fee of $30 and membership application will be collected and reviewed prior to acceptance into "active" membership. Students not current on their dues will be classified as "inactive" members.

  • Hazing Form

    In order to be considered an active member of HOSA, one must complete the annual hazing prevention course as per the Max Gruver Act. ALL members must take this one hour course. The course can be found by searching "LSU hazing prevention course." Email lsuhosasergeantatarms@gmail.com your completed certification whenever you have done the certification.

Pathways for Active Membership

HOSA Point System

HOSA Point System Requirements: 14 Points/Semester

Meeting Attendance - 2 points per meeting

Volunteering/Social Events - 1 point per hour

Donations - 1 point per item (2 points max per event)

Special Events - 1 to 3 points, determined by the Executive Board

Non-HOSA Volunteering - 1 point per hour (5 points max)

State Conference Competitor - 10 points

  • The Service Pathway

    Through this pathway, members contribute to the HOSA community, paving the way for successful careers in the health sector.

    The pathway is designed to earn a total of 14:

    6 points MUST be from general meeting attendance

    The remaining 8 points can be from more meetings, social, and community service events.

  • The Competition Pathway

    This pathway is designed to encourage members to immerse themselves in the competitive spirit of HOSA, where they can showcase their knowledge, skills, and abilities in various healthcare-related events. By participating in this pathway, members not only contribute to the HOSA community but also gain valuable experience and recognition, enhancing their personal and professional growth within the health field.

    This pathway is only available during the spring semester of each academic year.

    Designed to earn a total of 14 points:

    4 points coming from 2 general meetings, with one of those being the competition meeting.

    The other 10 will originate from participating in competitions throughout the spring semester.
