Advice? Spread positivity in your day to day life. Even if that means smiling at someone in passing or bringing a positive attitude to those around you.
Favorite thing about TRCC: I love that The Red Cross Club is something that everyone can do even if your not an active member and just show up to an event and make an impact on your local community. I feel as though as big as LSU is, I am able to go to an event in this club and be surrounded by like minded people that are serving the mission to alleviate human suffering in Baton Rouge
Favorite experience so far: My favorite Red Cross experience was going into a local neighborhood called, “ The Bottom” and installing smoke alarms in houses that were lacking them. This experience helped show me how wide disparity is in Baton Rouge and gave me a greater appreciation for the smaller things that I take for granted in my life.

Advice? Don’t let fear hold you back! I feel like I missed out on so many opportunities, especially my freshman year, due to fear of being judged or having to go to events alone. I promise you that almost everyone is in the same boat as you, so don’t hesitate to put yourself out there!
Favorite thing about TRCC: My favorite part about the Red Cross Club is the community. It has been a joy making an impact around our campus and community with the friends I have made through the club. Also, TRCC has enabled me to interact with more people in the Baton Rouge area which is filled with the most unique and caring individuals.
Favorite experience so far: By far, my favorite event was Sound the Alarm! We were sent to an apartment building that was recently damaged in a fire. When we went to install the smoke alarms, all the residents were so grateful. It was an incredible experience to see the impact we were making in our community firsthand.

Advice? Don’t forget to make time for fun! It’s easy to get caught up in academics and stress about the future, but you only have one college experience; you just need to find the balance that works for you.
Favorite thing about TRCC: All of our officers and dedicated members help create such a fun and supportive community. The work we do isn’t always easy, but the people make it even more rewarding.
Favorite experience so far: I love working in the ARC warehouse. The staff are amazing, and we’re always getting our hands dirty, whether it’s cleaning, organizing supply kits, or hands-on manual labor. It's a super cool opportunity to support ARC initiatives statewide, not just in Baton Rouge. An honorable mention was getting to attend the Tiger Excellence Awards and see TRCC win a Student’s Choice Award this past spring!
