Senior Citizen Outreach Program

Come volunteer with us at Oak Park Plaza!

Who Are We?

The Senior Citizen Outreach Program aims to facilitate meaningful interactions between the Baton Rouge community and LSU students through discussions and events with senior citizens. We host monthly events for the residents of Oak Park Plaza, a senior independent living center. Events can include but are not limited to game nights, football watch parties, holiday-themed parties, arts and crafts, and community gardening days.

Member Benefits

This organization is a great way to get service hours, make friends, and get involved with the community outside of LSU's campus!

Being a member would mean attending meetings once or twice a month to coordinate events. We understand that you are busy, so you do not have to attend EVERY meeting, but you do have to attend most. It would also include attending the monthly event for the seniors, which would be held on a set Sunday afternoon every month. Lastly, it would involve a short training session with Volunteers of America, Project 225's partner. It will be a short information session, and we will coordinate it for you.
